    Citizen Centric Services

The Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) is a central sector scheme that aims to modernize management of land records, minimize scope of land/property disputes, enhance transparency in the land records management system, and facilitate moving eventually towards guaranteed conclusive land titling in the country. In order to achieve the said goals and render citizen centric services, Department of Land resources (DoLR) has extended financial as well as technical support to States/UTs. There are various services related to Land such as obtaining of Records of Rights (RoR), Cadastral Map, Spatial Data, Registration of Land/Deeds, Revenue court case monitoring and Transliteration of RoR (Multilingual RoR) are just a click away these days.

The process of land registration in India involves several key steps including verification of property title deeds, preparation of sale deeds, payment of stamp duty, and registration at the Sub-Registrar’s office. The documentation required for land registration typically includes identity proofs, property documents, and payment receipts for stamp duty and registration fees. Online land registration software NGDRS developed by DoLR has streamlined this process, allowing individuals to complete registration from their homes, enhancing convenience and transparency. Registration Department of states/UTs maintains the online registration portals. The DILRMP has also ensured functional integration among the tehsil and State data centres as well as the corresponding Sub-Registrars’ offices by providing each SRO location with network connectivity. Notices are being automatically generated after registration to all recorded interested persons and the general public to effect changes in the Records of Rights (RoR).

Land records are maintained by the State/UT Revenue Department and are available in both textual and spatial formats. The textual data includes the Records of Rights (RoR), which is the primary document that shows how rights on land are derived for the landowner and records the property’s transactions from time to time. The RoR provides information on the names of all persons who have acquired some rights with regard to the land, the nature and limits of their rights, and the rent or revenue to be paid by them. Spatial land records, on the other hand, are maps that establish actual boundaries on the ground. Generation of Bhu-Aadhar or Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) is a connected initiative undertaken by DoLR. Now RoR can be downloaded from the dedicated portals maintained by each states/UTs and link of which is provided hereunder.
